Did anybody upgrade their wordpress blogs to the new version 2.8 (I suppose) How is it compatible with the popular wordpress plugins?
I have upgraded to wordpress 2.8 I have found the issues with wordpress 2.8: 1)Headspace2(I contacted the author and he has since released a release and is now compatabale with wordpress 2.8) 2) Post Notification (It does not correctly work even though it may get activated) 3) Some blogs do not recognise that wordpress 2.8 is the latest version so have to manually upgrade Thats the issues i have come across so far. New Features i have noticed are: 1) Time zone where you can select which country/city you are in and it wil automatically update your time if you live GMT+5 etc ... 2) Plugins page has been changed - i think i liked the way the page was in wordpress 2.7 3) People have said admin backend is faster - i have NOT noticed that. 4) Widgets api has been improved
The edit box often shoots down to the bottom of the text when you click in it, dragging widgets about is a bit dodgy, adding a category from the widget (while writing a blog) isn't working right (try it) and a few other little glitches. Like I say, nothing too serious.
It works fine with all the the popular Wordpress plugins but like Stu said there are a few minor glitches but don't let them get you down!
Anyone knows if the Theme Switcher plugin works fine with WP 2.8? I have some problems viewing my themes on 2.8.
Good question Professional Dude! Do you know when the next version of WP will be released? And is it true that WP 3.0 will be released featuring WP multi-users?
Hi Lastbutnotleast, i use the following: All in One SEO Pack cforms Google Analyticator Google XML Sitemaps Sociable WP-PageNavi I prefer sticking with that few that i really need, plus they are updated often and the developers of them dont seem like they will be giving up on them anytime soon.
In each release they always tried to remove bugs & introduce new feature.... right now anyone unable to mention new feature of 2.8
WP 2.8 works just as great. I noticed just a slight improvement in speed and yes the plugin dashboard is more chaotic than the previous.
I preferred the older Dashboard better, from a few versions ago. But 2.8 works great, just upgraded on both of my blogs with no issues.
Thanks for the feedbacks. I guess we all stress about WP upgrades anyway! Is it true that WP 3.0 will feature WP MU?
