Hey everyone, I just purchased a domain and installed Wordpress on it. As I am quite new to this WP, I was wondering what are some great plug-ins I should incorporate with my blog? What are some MUST have plug-ins? Thanks for the help
Thanks for the list of the basic plugins Don I do agree on that. But are you using other plugins too (contact form, newsletters, statistics, photo galleries...)?

Yep! Well. Although I'm cautious about the use of plugins because of WP updates and the load of sites (more plugins = slower load), we could list the basic plugins (the A list!) and we could list other plugins (the B list!) -for safety, photos, videos, marketing purpose, analysis...-.
You are right there as for each new update in WP version we always worry about its working Though there are so many plugins essential for WP we need to go with plugins which we think useful for us and at the same time we need to think about using limited number of plugins otherwise massive numbers slower load time. Balance use is must IMO. DON.

I would also suggest looking at: 1) maxblogpress-ping-optimizer 2) snazzy-archives or archives reloaded (both create an archive on any page you wish ) 3) Cforms (a very good contact form plugin but is a pain which you need to update it) 4) exec-php - If you want to execute PHP in any of the posts/page on your wordpress site 5) privacy-policy-1.0 (To keep in complianc with Google) 6) search-and-replace 7) wp-pagenavi (Adds an advanced paging navigation to your wordpress site)
