this technique is commonly employed to exchange links with other web masters. Where you place a link back to his/her site from your web page, and they'll place a link back to yours.

Article Writing and Submission
Another technique is by creating and distributing information and content to other web pages. There are many web sites that accept article submission and offers for distribution as indicated all over the Internet.

Press Release Submission
It is a way to deliver latest news events within your company. However, it is written in such a way that it will rank well in the search engines for your keywords and provide your website with important back links that will also help boost its position in the search engine rankings.

Directory Submission
Is a very cost-effective way to get links and helps to establish a foundation for Internet marketing.

Forum Posting and Blog Commenting
By posting regularly to these forums and blogs, and properly utilizing the signature tags, you can generate much needed back links to your web page which helps with search engine optimization for your site.

but now most of search engines now not giving importance to recipocal link excahnge. but we cal also get traffic from social book marketing and social networking sites

You can add Few Social bookmarking sites in list, which can give good backlink to your site like- mixx.com, folkd.com etc.

Forum Posting are also a good way to get backlink.

 

I have been directory submission with reciprocal links for some time already but I can't seem to get a lot of backlinks despite having posted to more than a hundred directories already.. It really takes time if we rely on directories.. I was only able to get few backlinks.. Oh, I am talking about free submission.. The results might be different if you avail of the featured listings where you have to pay a certain amount..

i prefer forum posting for traffic and DF blog commenting for PR juice comments can not make large traffic but PR juice forum don't help you in getting PR juice but Traffic

Does anyone here seriously spend a lot of time doing directory links... really?

 

To do in link-building campaigns :

1. Article writing & submission : Create quality articles and submit only to major directories , like ezinearticles.

2. Blogging & RSS Directories : Blogging can be a useful tool when we're talking link-building. Try to blog only on topic internal and external. When I'm saying internal I mean : make a blog attached to your website something like www.domain.tld/blog/ . External blogs : make blogs topic related on wordpress or blogspot, there are many free blogging platforms but I mention these two because of the trustrank a link from such a website has in the engines. That is all about making a blog and blogging, but don't forget : like every website , blogs don't promote themself , so you will need to submit them in RSS Directories.

3. Social bookmarking : Use it to bookmark your website pages and blog posts , it can really make a difference. Use high rank , dofollow one like digg, delicious, stumbleupon, reddit and so on.

4. Directory submission : No , this method isn't dead like many people say , it's just misused. Try to submit to quality - niche directories rather than general ones. Take care of what description and what title your link will have, and try to shift them once in a while , don't be just a submission robot , think. Last but not least , try to get accepted in DMOZ , Yahoo Directory. Don't go for offers like "I submit to 5K of directories for $5" - it's a vaste of time and money.

6. Link-bait : if you create something , and people love it , even a good and informative article people will link to you.

7. Link development through Templates and/or Scripts : This isn't a walk in the park, and if you're not a developer you need to invest some money, but if it goes well you can get tons of backlinks, just because people love free stuff.

8. Blog commenting : If you can find some related blogs , it would be wise to comment with your anchor text. Try to find quality blogs and forget those lists, they get outdated very fast. Don;t be lazy and do some research.

9. Forum signature : Get noticed in a forum (such as this) and you can leave a signature in the footer.

10. Answers : do some Yahoo Answers and you will get backlinks.

11. Classifieds : post ads to get backlinks

12. Video links : Create some quality videos and submit them to youtube, or other sites like that and it can bring you a very good backlink.

13. Free resources posts : Squidoo, Hubpages.

Most of these methods are free for everyone, so get busy guys

Don't even think of buying sponsor links

 

Include classified ads, social bookmarking and networking, and online groups and. These techniques helps create inbound links and at the same time generate traffic.
