After a few weeks hard work my PR2 site (domain a little over 2 years old) has started to rank first page for a couple of my keywords on google.co.uk.

For the same keywords on google.com they are around the 50 and 60 mark.
My niche is aimed 99% at the UK market so I want to rank high on the UK SERP trouble is most people when they search google will not tick the UK results button so it will return the COM SERP.

It is only in the last fortnight 10 days or so I broke to first page (UK) and google have had a bit of a dance back and forth since then but it now seems to be stabilizing.

Is it fair to assume that my site will move up the COM rankings in due course?
The keywords are specific to the UK as they include a town name that said my competitors rank high on COM.

Well.. If you keep promoting your site and your backlinks will increase 100% each day then surely you could overcome these obstacles..

100% increase in backlinks each day is hard but its achievable.

Just keep going up.. Go up! Don't think about downs.. Just go UP..

Just keep doing what you're doing and focus on getting content up that sticks.

Check out this article on SEO For Local Search , it's a good start.

    Good work and good luck!

I would have thought so to but no..

A search on .com for blue widgets anytown returns a different list for the same term on .co.uk

I suppose it depends on the google data centres to a point?

A search on. Com blue widgets for any town returns a different list for the same term on. Co.uk. This is quite normal, different results for you in one town and one in another town on. Co.uk for the same term.

Google has targeted search results for different geographic locations.

Geo targetting is important for google so it acts accordingly
    Thats all

If you site is for global audience then dont tick for UK only as it might take a while to then come up on .com

As you are seeing good results for co.uk its good for you

As you said that 99% target for you is UK then you dont need to worry for .com
