I have a website creditcardscafe.com. I also have a domain credit-cards-cafe.com. which one of these names is seo friendly? I would like direct/point these domains to the same website. If I do this, will the traffic increase or does google not spider such sites? Venkata
there is little difference, the first one is better from a customer point of view...no hyphens., if you get enough links pointing to your domain..it wont matter which one you use
read the thread up top called...DIRECTORIES....and submit your site to all the ones you find in there. good luck...will take you a few hours
You could also use the famous digitalpoint coop ad network. But I'd suggest getting directory links, related site links, and make sure you have good internal linking. links, links, links, liggity links, links, links ... OH! and a signature link wouldn't hurt.
What happens is that hyphen is interpreted as space by SE. So, if you just post your url somewhere like ... credit-cards-cafe.com The link will have keywords "credit cards cafe" automatically. This is why it is generally believed that domain names with hyphens are very seo-effective.
good, there is nothing wrong with it ... just saying that you are not going to be successful by having a dashed url that noone remembers
right now I am looking at top results for certain terms and it varies by search engine, but overall I don't see any advantage or strong presence of dash domains like I used to, I therefor conclude that it's signifcance is no longer there. But one thing I know is having a domain with dashes does not help people revisi unless they are on their own computer and have the site saved somewhere. You will lose potential clients and revisiting clientel
