What is the best CMS out there? I would put my skill level at about 6/10 on web design. I am looking for a good CMS to create pages for small businesses.

I've loved Wordpress, heard a lot about Joomla, and want to look into others. What are your thoughts?

All three work fine for simple websites. Just pick one and learn how to use it. If you aren't making a blog I would leave wordpress alone though.

If you're doing a startup in CMS, Wordpress will be the best. But, if you want to expertise, I'll suggest Joomla.

PS: The best solution is custom CMS, hardcoded by yourself. Because, it'll be your requirement-specific, and also you can avoid any kind of security holes, but you must know all the aspects for coding such a CMS.

WordPress might be best for a starting or not so experienced designer. Joomla is harder to customize. Drupal is kinda easier than Joomla for template building modifications.

Keep in mind that in most cases Joomla or Drupal might be an overkill if you don't need that much functionallity and/or complexity and WordPress can be used for a really wide variety of sites...

WordPress is great for business websites. It's easier to customize. You can also add plugins if you want to extend WP functionalities

By CMS, I meant "content management system." Basically I'm in a position where I don't feel like I should design a site from scratch since so many good themes are already out there. I just need to tweek and handle content. Sorry for not explaining that better. Thanks for all the replies to far as well.

Of all the CMS platforms I have used, I find Wordpress to be the most easiest to manipulate. It is also very versitile as you can add as many plugins as you wish and have the ability to add your own theme.
