Anyone have any tips for selling a product through Clickbank and getting affiliates to promote it.

We have a client who wants to sell a ebook they have been writing over the last few months.

Any suggestions or help would be welcome.
I know how CB works and do pretty well as a affiliate for the products but never our own product.

Make sure you make a good sales page, the sales pages is what sells the product.

Do some pre-testing before you launch, to see how well it converts, if you think it doesn't convert well enough, make some tweaks and adjustments to your sales page.

If you have a good product and a good sales page, posting about your product here on DP is a good way to get affiliates. There are a lot of Clickbank affiliates here, and when they see something good, they're eager to start promoting.

Good affiliate tools, cracking sales letter and creating the buzz before launch though email marketing, and don't forget about JV's. Also I hope your client has done some research to see whether or not his/her product will have commercial viability, if not then it wont make much money.

What do people feel about using ejunkie or an inhouse affiliate program to get paid?

Im not a big fan of clickbank and would like more control over payments etc..
Id like to be able to pay to affiliates weekly via paypal.

To be honest I would stick with CB, they handle the affiliate payments, and its almost totally automated.

Clickbank definitely has more benefits. You gain huge exposure on clickbank, it has the largest base of affiliates.

I bet it would be harder to find affiliates for an e-junkie product. However Clickbank has some drawbacks, but I think the benefits they have outweight them.

    Hi Jenny,

In my view you are better off using Clickbank as they do have thier niggles but it is easier to get your product out there.

A few pointers as others have mentioned:

    1. Make sure you have a good sales page with good copy.

    2. Make sure your product has a unique selling point (USP) if there are others in your niche.

    3. Affiliate tools and lots of them!

    4. Promote like mad yourself and you will find affiliates join, if you are getting sales yourself then people will jump on the bandwagon.

    Keep testing and tweaking.

Good luck with it and if you need anymore help let me know.

    Chris

-Yes, you can change the commissions at any time.
-Vendors can get paid either twice per month, or 4 times per month (weekly payments)
-They accept almost everything, what they don't accept is something that is obviously illegal, adult-stuff, and have a restriction on gambling products.
-They do accept gambling-related products, but they have certain limitations on them.
