Yahoo site explorer is showing 400 backlinks to my site and it is also ranking on msn with main keyword. Please help me with this and i dont want to submit my site to google webmaster tools. a) It's a new site.

    b) It's an affiliate site with very little content (google doesn't like these types of sites).

Even if it was indexed, it wouldn't get much, if any natural traffic from google. Google is a lot more picky than the other search engines.

it's a new site and it will take time. My advice would be to start building backlinks to other pages within your site other than just your main landing page. This way Google will start to crawl if more fully.

Why not? Webmaster tools is an excellent system to detect potential problems with your site in the eyes of Google. I would really advise you to do that and eventually you will see the reason for your site not being indexed.

Is it a brand new domain or was it used before?

The more organic traffic you get the more google will index you. If your site's new and you haven't invested countless hours into advertising your site, then chances are your organic traffic isn't very high....

Please provide more info so we can help you better.

What is your traffic like? How many pages are on your site? etc etc

Archive.org shows that this domain name was in use in 2007.

In October of 2007 it was a links site that looks like it was selling link. It had a whole section for Sponsored Links. In november 2007 the domain was parked.

I'am thinking that the previous owner did something to get banned from google. That is why they let the name expire, and why the person who had it parked let it expire.

Go into your google webmaster tools and submit the site for "reconsideration for inclusion". Someone at google will then look at the site and see if it meets the guidelines.

Google Webmaster central is key as well as a blog component/rss feed for your site -- Build backlinks and quality content. Also, google webmaster central is awesome, you guide google through your site - it's the ultimate in manipulation

Submit your site to digg.com as well as do 20-25 DOFOLLOW blog comments (Make sure the blogs which you select are having Page rank 3 or more), after 2-3 days, you will get indexed by google. After that try to feed some new things daily to your site as well as get more inbound links from other sources too, you will be able to see a fast turn around within some days.... :)

One of my sites took about 2 months to get indexed even with webmaster tools. Not that many backlinks though. I've heard that getting too many backlinks too fast is also a "punishable offense". Has anyone had that experience?

Sometimes it can take up to 8 weeks for a website to be indexed by Google, nevertheless, XML sitemap implemented into a website and incoming links can speed up this procedure signifficantly.

When you register in Google Webmaster it tells you if your site was banned. This happened to me when I bought a dropped name a few weeks ago. I've requested a reconsideration and received some feedback yesterday. Google is looking into the site. Hope they unblock it soon.
