Normally but not in all cases when a websites pagerank decreases to n/a that is a sign of the site being penalized. I would find out more by contacting google via webmaster tools.

Just use Google webmaster tools to analyze your web site. If there is any problem with your site you will get more information from Google webmaster tools. Also check how many pages are indexed in Google (site:yoursite.com).

This happens regularly and frequently. It is not usualy because you have done something wrong but because you need to continually build links back to your site to maintain it's PR. Over time the PR of the pages you link to will change which will effect your PR. So don't worry just keep building backlinks to your site

First, google site:yoursite.com and see if your site is still in the index.

If your site has been deindexed then either

    1. Google's algorithm concluded your site was either spammy (keyword stuffed), auto generated, part of a linking scheme, etc.

    2. A human editor concluded that your site offers no value to their index.

The first one is easy to fix, just stop doing what you were doing and file for reinclusion.

Then second one is hard to fix because you have to add "compelling, original, and substantive content or tools, and *then* file a reconsideration request."

The above posters were right in their suggestions that you sign up for Google Webmaster Tools: google.com/webmasters and check for any messages Google is trying to send you concerning problems with your site.

You can plead your case in the webmaster help forum and probably get an answer from a Google employee: http://www.google.com/support/forum/p/Webmasters?hl=en

    And request reconsideration here: http://www.google.com/support/webmasters/bin/answer.py?hl=en&answer=35843

But don't do either one of those things if you haven't logged into Webmaster Tools and checked for any messages. Any previously sent messages will be there waiting for you to sign up.

Your site has either received a penality.

Or, the sites where you had your back links from - they went off line.

Check your google webmaster tools and see how many links are listed there. Also check your yahoo site explorer tools and see how many links you have.

Hi ... shocking when your PR vanishes. Take all the great advice offered, in this thread. Remember, though, disappearing PRs often return as quickly and mysteriously as they disappeared. Once or twice a year, my PR goes on vacation for a day or two. This has been happening for about 2 years. Again, heed the wisdom, in this thread, but add a liberal amount of patience. Good luck.

Sometimes this is just temporary unavailability. Wait about 1-2 days, if the problem persist, use google webmaster tools

There's a high chance that your site has been penalised because the PR has been reduced to N/A. If your backlinks were given less importance than they were before, then you will see a drop in your PR but i don't think it will be N/A, probably PR1 or PR2.

Therefore you will need to check in you have any messages in GWT or analyse your backlinks to see if there's anything wrong against google guidelines.
