Dreamweaver for the graphic stuff + a lot of NVU. It is based on the old Mozilla composer that I first started to create websites with.
Dreamweaver is for paid of course , but notepad++ still simple and so fast . me on ubuntu , using bluefish you have also eclipse , and netbeans ( especially if you are running a php project )
I have been using EditPlus on Windows for years, and am happy with it for HTML and php. Also use Aptana and Eclipse when an IDE is needed.
Try using Evrsoft first page 2006 it works great for me just put the name in a google search just like I spelled it Evrsoft
I agree that Dreamweaver is very good, but we recently switched to all Macs, and we've been very happy with Textmate (editor) along with Transmit (ftp) for editing and building mutiple web sites.
If its an editor you want then Notepad++ probally is the best free software out there, but if its WYSIWYG (what you see if what you get) editor, then Dreamweaver would be the tool for you.
Dreamweaver! leads from the front... Mostly people prefer to do raw coding using Notepad because it helps coder to learn codes easier as Dreamweaver has enough features to show possible snippets!
I've been using Coffee Cup for at least 9-10 years. Paid $49 one time and have gotten every update free. How can we beat that? And if you're new to HTML / XHTML / CSS / Scripting - you'll find the built in tools good for you. I still type my code - never currently use the WYSIWYG feature - but I did fiddled with it years ago - and it seems to work well.
