How to Make a Popular Blog using Blogspot??

Blogspot is a very popular platform for blogging no doubt. But most of their blogs are ignored by search engines and people. Is it possible to create really popular blog using blogspot?

Why do you say most of their blogs are ignored by search engines. As blogspot is owned by Google, I've always thought it might be a good way of getting content included in Google Blog Search. Can you substantiate your claim as I would like to find know more? Cheers, Nax.

Of course it is possible. The platform is immaterial - the content is what matters.

ya blogspot is owned by google but using blogspot often its quite difficult to attract traffic. Main reasons are:
    1. Lack of available design materials.
    2. Difficulty in modifying the css.
    3. Wired commenting system.
    4. weak permalinks.

I wanted to know is there any specific plugins for solutions of these?

The only thing that I have often heard people say for using Blogspot is to actually see if there is any reason to stay with the niche they are investigating. If there is a response to what they are providing content for then in most cases there are no bad reasons for Blogspot.

Of course if you don't provide content that is worth a flip you won't get any love from Google...

Absolutely. No matter the platform, SEO are what is going to get you traffic, and good Content will get you readers.
The blogs that you see that seem to be ignored, are so because they suck, or the author has given up, or has not done much SEO on them.
(Trust me, I know..I have a few of them:))

Doesn't matter what platform you use if it is good.

Although a nice theme will help with keeping the viewer interested at first, it'll be good content that keeps them around.

    - lack of uniques design

    - poor permalinks structure.

    - ppl don't get domain and paid hosting.

    - lack of traffic.

traffic, content and design do all so if u have these 3 things and market well then no doubt blogspot can rocks. blogspot is owned by GOOGLE but wordpress is better than blogspot.

I always see people saying this, but I have never seen one piece of concrete proof of this. I see blogs get love because of good content and SEO, not just because they may be on blogger.

    Regarding the issues you raised:
    1. There are many sites offering templates for Blogger. OurBlogTemplates.com is one good example, but there are many more (just Google "Blogger Template")
    2. What's the difficulty? CSS can give you a lot of freedom. Check out my site for example.
    3. Check out this article from BlogBulk.com for changing the commenting look and feel.

I'm not sure what you meant in the 4th item, if you can explain yourself I may be able to help you on that...

You can host your own domain in Blogger in order to avoid a url like: myblog.blogspot.com

Blogger is a good platform, although it's not like Wordpress. You can use a theme and modify it but you can't change the blogging platform. Anyway, you will spend less money in hosting providers and usually Google doesn't delete any blog and they rank well on search results.

Using your own domain is specially important because people think that a free blog is not so good than a blog with his own domain, even if they don't read your content. Also it will look better in social bookmarks.
