    Add to my rep :)

When users are registered, they can post news, edit news, review articles, view members only pages. -kyoku2

Well Joomla has usergroups like VBulletin if you have used it. You can have Administrators (can do anything) Editors(can post news) Users( can view content if you set it to be viewed by reg users only) plus you can give permissions to usergroups as the way you want....

If you have download section, you can set it to be download by users only.

Joomla also have integration with MSG boards, like vb, smf etc so you can use same user database for main site as well as board + many more things you can set to view by user groups.

    Hope this helps....

    Cheers

Good explainatin Alvin - I would only add that the different user group which you can place users/members in can be on the frontend for contributions (news, polls, comments, etc) or on the backend ;)
