Mate, Blogging is not really the best earning stream so far, it works for some/most people, but never has for me. The main problem is the traffic, with a million blog coming up everyday, and 1/3rd of those from the same niche you plan to blog on competition and traffic becomes a problem... Although if you have managed to get a decent traffic, adsense is the best option, otherwise is can be demoralizing, seeing to empty income figures in your adsense account.

Agreed. The only caveat I would make would be to include whatever advertising you are planning from the start, rather than introduce it later. Yes, whilst you're building your audience, you'll make next to nothing from that advertising. But it establishes the principle that it's an ad-supported blog. If you later suddenly add adverts to a previously ad-free blog, you may lose readers.
