I plan on opening PageLogic.com as a amazon affiliate site. Just need a ball park with how much potential amazon affiliate sites have to earn monthly\ Thanks.
I haven't had any luck with amazon compared to google and yahoo. maybe i just don't undertsand the right type of site to build. I am making $50k month and less than 1% of that comes from amazon. I am still confused by people making so much with amazon. What am I doing wrong???
I've always had trouble with amazon. I do know someone who is quite successful with a niche book site that refers visitors to amazon.
yea, niche sites are the way to go..those huge million page shops are almost always a flop for dup. content..
It also depends on what you promote. This quarter so far I've made $462.12, from 91 items. ONE item alone generated $270.00 of that!!!! (The item cost $4,499.99) Disclaimer: There's no refer ID there. Hopefully the dude won't ship that huge item back!! Tip: If you use an AWS script, make all categories be organized by price, with the highest priced items first!!! I tested out a php AWS script and did just that and just 574 clicks to Amazon made $368.48, which includes the item that earned $270.00. Counting another script and other links to Amazon and that script, for a total of $460.92, took 7,325 clicks this quarter so far.
Edit the script!!! aka, know enough php or perl not to crash the script!!! Or editing the template might be enough. aka post on the support board of the script you use...if they have one.
Yes, I know about that. What I am asking is where in the script can you alter the output of the array? From what I see, all that is possible is to choose what to query from amazon. Do you put in your own code to show the higher priced items first or is there pre-existing code that you just alter a little? If it is your own code that is needed, then nevermind, I will sort it out myself. If it is some location in the pre-existing code like (order=increasing/decreasing), can you point out where is it?
It depends on the script you're using. Ask on there support board if they have one. It would be the script, or template part. I just edited the URLs/mod_rewrite to the category.
I have found that obviously relevancy sells. My amazon links on receptionsearch.com.au get loads and loads of views, but only relatively few clicks, and I am yet to sell one single thing. I need to make some more modules I think, possibly text links that are relevant to my content. Andrew
That might just be because of your placement - the box I found was tucked away in the corner, on a part of the page that's easy to ignore. But more likely Amazon ads aren't the right kind for the focus of your site. People are looking for places to get married, not books about weddings. They'll need flowers, limos, entertainers, caterers ... Find a way to advertise those. The trouble with Amazon is it's only the best programme for a small percentage of sites, even though you tend to see it everywhere.
Besides placing the highest priced items first, which can obviously bring you a higher commision if they are purchased, another good method is to display the best selling items first. Thanks, PuReWebDev
I would say you have a lot of potential being an amazon affiliate because tons of people are always using amazon for some reason or the other.
