It loads quite fast for me with a ping averaging of 146ms which is my usual ping to a site hosted in America. 8Mbps connection using IE8

trying to keep it under 200kb. 5x 200 on everyday it's around mb.

u can compress certain areas of a jpeg to the max (backgrounds) and leave foreground items sharp.

I can do this for you per image. You will be saving 100's of kb that way instead of a few kb in code.

 

loads pretty slow. Try using gzip to compress some of the images, css... Optimize your scripts as well since it sucks up about 1/8 of the load time. Good luck =)
