Hi, I've got a couple of problems. First off, my blog http://teenagedrinkingstories.com/ is a collection of true teenage drinking stories. I'm having trouble finding new stories to add. I've tried lots of things from contests to asking on teen forums but I can't seem to get anywhere. Does anyone know any ways I can collect some stories? Also, does anyone have any suggestions on marketing this specific niche. It's already #1 on google when you search for teenage drinking stories. Any specific ways I can drive traffic? Thanks for the help, Misha Valentine. edit: It was #1.... I shouldn't have messed with SEO...
I suggest you contact: Mother Against Drunk Drivers - MADD. They should be able to give you some good real life stories of how teenagers are killed in drinking and driving accidents. I bet they even have real life stories of how teenagers suffer spinal cord injuries from drinking and driving and are left in a wheel chair for the rest of their lives. Dads Against Drunk Drivers - DADD. Its just like MADD but from a dads point of view. Court records - You should be able to get information on how many people were killed in teenage drinking and driving accidents. How many people were sued and how much the judgments were for. Interview a cop - he/she should be able to give you detailed accounts of drinking and driving accidents, how the kids were killed, body parts laying on the road, broken bones, and destroyed lives. MADD would probably be the best place to start. The president of your local MADD chapter is probably a victim of drinking and driving. They should be able to put you into contact with people who have real stories to share.
Hi Misha, where did you collect your first group of stories? What kinds of contests did you hold before? An idea that popped into my head just now is YouTube. I'm constantly amazed at the stuff people post there. Maybe someone that did a video might contribute to your blog (written or video format). As far as driving traffic, what's your focus? Kev mentioned MADD, which is a great resource but your site seems geared more towards funny teenage drinking stories. Is that your target audience or is a mix of both? Who are you trying to reach/interest? Why? Honestly I've never thought of that as a topic of iterest until seeing your post here. How and why are people finding you already? What makes this a new "hot" niche? Anymore it's not that hard to get a top Google ranking... I'll check back later.... ZM
I'm trying to target teenagers or anyone who will think my stories are funny. I'm trying to get stories that are funny and not just from the sad and depressing side of teenage drinking. I'm pretty my site is unique in being the only site like it.
i dont really thing it is a good idea to try and make drunk driving stories funny because most of your visitors will probably have had bad experiences.
I'm not making drunk driving stories funny. Drunk driving is stupid. I'm not sure where you got that idea.
anyway, u got a nice topic for your blog ... hehe... i like it i suggest you to use yahoo answers and ask someone there to post their experiences... and best wished
