So, Out from scene" has been submitted to the moderator of the TTCH-L list: . but i didn't send any message to any aol address or mailing list. no such subject line was in my sent folder, either. how did that message get sent from my email address? it is freaking me out.
Ignore it. it was probably a response to some spam and your email address was put in the reply-to field...
yup, done. yeah i was hoping it would be that... the allcaps domains i think would support that theory.
It is regrettably too easy to fake originating email addresses. You can, if interested, look in the "properties" menu to see the originating IP address regardless of what is shown. The people who do such are even lower than your average spammer/phisher which is why I always send such nastiness to They know how to trace these illegitimacies. It does help eventually. The last big spammer bust they made last winter instantly cut out over 90% of the trash that was coming in to my inbox. It is only now beginning to grow again as another one has taken up the task of working the trash trail but I am sure with a bit of help from all of us, they too will eventually get their just rewards. Just forward your spams to spam@uce.gov
