International sites flooded .co.uk

In one of my niche's my key phrases have bombed in the last week.

I have just looked at the current SERPS for google.co.uk and they are completley different and filled with U.S and other international sites.

an example of one of the key phrases is cheap spa chemicals

6 of the first 10 SERPS are now international sites and have only appeared in the last week or so pushing my sites from the first page to the backened of page 3 - I havn't noticed this with any other niche's. Also if you search for sites only in the uk google displays the SERPS as they were a week ago before all these forign sites turned up. my other key phrases have gone from page 6-8 ish out of the top 50 pages, I havn't done anything black hat.

has any one else noticed anything along these lines, or know why?

 

Yes, I have noticed this too. It looks like filters have been removed too. I can only suggest that google's algo has been updated and that filters will be replaced and normality will be restored in time.

At the moment, should your site HAVE been using black hat methods it would probably be doing better than usual if my SERPs are anything to go by. If you had an identical copy of your site on a spare domain with links going to your primary domain you would probably be #1! The top 3 of my SERP all have done this to great effect (don't be tempted though - google may catch up one day - but even though I have reported sites they still have done nothing but reward the sites with amazing ranking)

im sure this will be rectified as soon as possible. Or atleast we hope.

 

I very weird situation. I wonder whether the filters being removed is a mistake? It is very annoying for trying to find information specific to a geographic location.

 

I've had exactly the same with my main keyword. Worked my way from page 6 to page 2 only to drop to page 10 yesterday!

Hopefully it's only temporary
