It is a cool site but normal is 4-8 months revenue which would be roughly $120-$240, maybe you can ask for 12 months ($360), but your asking price is way too high for the revenue you make.

Let me know if you lower your asking price I may be interested.

    Also Proof would be nice.

Sorry Neal if you can't afford this then it's not for you. Your opinion of it's value is laughable and an attempt to lowball me. I ask that you don't lowball in my sales thread and trash the sale with inaccurate information. 4-8 months revenue is not the average site sale. When you sell your sites at that rate let me know. I will buy them all.

I will provide proof to anyone willing to make me an offer I will accept. No sense in giving proof to someone whos offer I won't consider.

Here is the last time I was selling this:

A year ago it had 1/10th of todays traffic and I have done nothing to make it increase. This site should continue to grow very well as it's viral and related to social site usage.

If this doesn't sell trust me I won't care that much. I will probably be asking twice as much in 2010. For someone this is a great deal. 1k daily uniques naturally isn't something to scoff at.

I think what guru16 said is partly correct.. People sell sites at 10-12 months revenue, during the last 6-7 months specially when the recession has come in people are selling sites specially in dp at 6-10 months revenue as well.. Your site is just like a turnkey operating from the script, it has got no "real content" in terms of articles and all.. And the script is also not worth alot there are tonnes of such script.

So 12 months is around $300 and you asking for 4 times that. According to your analytics it is not showing 1k uniques a day either. So on what basis are u selling the site at 4 years revenue?? Am i missing something??

Btw, I think you got it wrongly.. That is not his current analytics stats, but for last year.. :)
(which is why he was saying that last year's traffic was only 1/10th of the current traffic)

There are those that know...and those that don't know. Feel free to pass on this if you don't know. This site will sell for $x,xxx to a knowledgable buyer.

If this doesn't sell and in a year I place it up for sale again for $2,000 I will be sure to point to this thread and all the people that missed out. I have used that strategy before and it works. You have a chance here to obtain a strong site with excellent natural growth and earnings. Sites like this continue to grow very well. What's $40 a month profit now might be $75-$100 in a year. While the traditional sales multiplier is 10-12x revenue that doesn't take into account the upward momentum of a site.

    http://image-host.com/images/xgloz1i96p2rxdx8hks.jpg

Take a peek...that's the past 7 months. Traffic has tripled and so has revenue. I am being conservative when I say $75-$100 per month revenye in a year. It could be $120-$150 which would make my $1200 price tag on the mark. Maybe now you understand what I mean by "those that know". If you can't figure out this sites value then please move along and hunt for some of that sledge that others sell. If you want quality...send me a PM.

Crap..I see my screenshot is thumbnailed. Oh well..this doesn't appear to be selling anyways.

The comments being made are rude sales thrashing posts. And I will take it personal when you're making such insulting offers. PR is meaningless especially if the site has proven traffic and revenue. As for the "script"...not sure what your point is. VBbulletin is easily available too does that mean DP is worthless? Jeez...you people really need to stop being so rude and obnoxious in sales threads.

If you don't like my sale or price then move on...you have no business trashing my sale. I am positive you wouldn't appreciate the same in your sales threads.

Funny you sell a recent site of your own for 11x revenue but you offer me 3x. C'mon..wtf you trying to pull here?

    http://marketplace.sitepoint.com/auctions/64280

Even at 11x my site is worth at least $400. Now add in the strong domain. The traffic growth rate. The fact that it requires ZERO upkeep and that value quickly rises. Your site takes time everyday to manage...mine is ZERO.

Like I said..this doesn't sell that's 100% fine with me. I'll be back in the future selling this for $2k in a year...mark my words.

Amatuers are always so damn funny. I been selling sites/domains for a decade. Silly kids...get a clue.

Lastly...if I was selling your wickedreport site I would have gotten at least $2500. If you don't know how to sell in the marketplace and obtain top dollar then that's your loss. When you are making $xx,xxx sales regularly let me know.

haha...this thread turned out pretty amusing.

Okay...for those that are making ridiculous assertions based on Alexa (omg noobs)...here is the fixed image from Analytics:

    http://image-host.com/images/bud88hxn40z2jb5m0r60.jpg

Boy that's some downturn in traffic ehh...that's the last 7 months and I can go back further with the same growth. In Jan 2008 the site was about 150-200 per day. Somewhere in summer 2008 it began to move. The growth pattern is a great one.

    May Google income $46.85

That's double what it was 3 months ago...and site is still growing. In 6 months $1200 is going to look incredibly cheap for this.

RectangleMan, you have a nice site and niche here.

I don't think anyone is trying to bash you or your site. Its just hard to sell a website based on 12 month of potential revenue.

As a rule of thumb I normally pay 10-12 month of last 3 months average income for new websites that i buy. Your websites seems to be growing so 10-12 month worth of the income in May is also reasonable.

I would be interested if you lower the starting bid too..

    Best of luck

I agree that's my rule too. But you can see that some believe 3-6 months revenue is the average...that's just lowballing. I am not agressively selling this. If the right buyer sees this that's cool if not that's cool too. What's not cool is insulting the seller just to send lowball offers hoping he takes it.

I just can't wait till 6 months go by and I post this for sale for a higher asking price and it sells. I am not ashamed to say I paid $250 for this here at DP. At the time it was making less than $10 a month but I saw it's potential. Most probably believed I overpaid at the time. I made my money back and now making pure profit. The work I placed on the site was about 2 hours when I bought it to touch up a few things.

I can imagine the right buyer obtaining this and making more adjustments to achieve higher revenue. I see strong sites like this sell for mid $x,xxx often. NameFunk.com is a very brandable unique domain name that's easy to remember and type.

    btw..thread I bought it from: http://forums.digitalpoint.com/showthread.php?t=541652

Ahh..so it was...I was napping. Guess mysql was maxxed out. Thanks.

Nah...but it's certainly a mid $xx,xxx at least. The site is making strong income. It's down to alexa 29k now and will probably be under 20k in 6 weeks. Daily average is about 17k lately. HF is getting close to 20k daily visits too. It's a real earner.

As for Namefunk. Still growing in the revenue...$2.86 so far today.
