    What do you mean with "Google gave my site about -400 on every search phrase for my site".. What is -400 ?

    The copyright link should not be a problem.. the best and biggest sites always had it.

    It is certainly something else. Google bots are far smarter than that. If they do penalize sites with such features then they will not have any good sites to rank in SERPS. My sites all have links linking back to them and they don't have any trouble. Guess the google bots who cwral my site are super bots!

    nobody gets penalized for something like that, there has to be more to this story; those links or whatever you bought perhaps....link farm stuff...... a -50 penalty is pretty severe and only for really black hat tricks

    humm, I honestly haven't done any black hat seo. I'm not linking to any bad neighborhoods or link farms. (I check my outgoing links often)

    I removed the links that contained the keywords and linked to my home, and now I'm back in the top 10 for some of my main keyphrases.

    I don't think it is as simple as you make out. Googlebots are quite good at figuring out this types of potenial errors, are you sure there is not an underlying problem elsewhere

    Build some decent links and don't be so paranoid. You aren't getting penalized for having a footer link sitewide. Almost every site on the net has one. Your rankings suck because your links suck, plain and simple.

    your site was penalized because it sucks - its a scraper site of youtube videos with little content. write some unique content on there and resubmit, but as for now google doesnt want you opening a blogspot account and simply scraping youtube videos and posting them on there.
