How do we all see the future of Google? We've got a company that makes 99% of its revenue from one source of income - ads. With MSN and Yahoo moving in, as well as many other contextual advertising companies, do you think this will deal a blow to Google? Let's face it, they aren't exactly Microsoft when it comes to software development. What else will could they do once competition sets in for contextual advertising? Can they sustain this level of succcess? (not to mention that their SERPS have been broken for a while too)
Well, between the adwords mess, and the landing page issue (which unfortunately is affecting some pretty good sites too), and general unhappiness with the perceived 'de-personalised-we-don't-care-we-are-invincible' attitude to all and sundry, and the fact that MSN adcentre is pretty good, AND that most google blogs don't actually deal with customer service or answer big issues like these because of legalities of one kind or another, I think that Google better shape up its customer relations... People keep talking about what Google's trust in a site is, but it seems that more are wondering how trustworthy Google itself is... No one is THAT big....just my opinion ofcourse.... I've always liked Google as a search tool to find stuff, but that feeling is fading, probably more now that I am actively involved in SEM... The point is Google relies on websites to generate its ad revenues... and the people Google is teeing off is not the general public, its the web site owners...so while search may still be popular, trying to please Google may decrease on the part of the site owners, and that's when we may start to see changes... maybe... but really, what do I know....
I can see that Google has a not very friendly behavior for their customers. Specially here in Europe. What I am missing is communication. They behave in a very dictatorial way, and I think in the long run, this will not be in there favour. Or maybe it's just growing problems. Watch out, others are not sleeping!
I see the future of online advertising very proimising for all oriented members. I am hoping there will soon be advertising price wars to get the most publishers/advertisers They won't be making 50% on clicks anymore, it will drop down to 5%
According to what I've read Google will soon release it's own Operating System . I think this will be a major blow to Microsoft if ever this will happen. Because most of Google stuff are really cool like Picassa and Google Earth. Not to mention the brilliance of Gmail. I think their customer relation abroad(outside the US) will be one of the consideration also. Because MSN have already expanding abroad.
I think it will become harder and harder to get rankings in Google if their not well deserved, and you are going to get more and more expensive PPC prices that will knock out anyone small (just my opinion)
Googles search engine will be able to decompile Flash and index flash-content just like on HTML-only pages.
I see google keeping their serps exactly the same and continuing to dominate for years. They could sack all their staff tomorrow and 98% of users wouldn't ever notice.
Google has the brand name. I do not see it failing. Ask any internet user and the first company they will tell you is Google.

Like any company who sees competition setting in, Google DOES have something to be worried about. To keep the level of success they've had, they will always have to INNOVATE by creating new technologies and staying on top of the search game. It's going to get competitive, and it will be tough for Google to stay on top. They've got the brand name recognition right now, but what's to say that future users won't switch over to Yahoo, MSN, or Ask.com? Let's also remember that Microsoft has their new operating system coming out that's going to TIE search directly into it. That's a nice silver bullet, to say the least ..
ROL!!! you may not be far wrong as regards the general running It was great before, but if you keep meddling when it ain't broke - it will be
Google may take over the world "may" because we know Google is currently the best search engine on the internet but who knows the future. Akash Kumar
