As per my earlier post, I'd ordered my VPS (Unmanaged VPS 1), used the coupon for $2 off, put in support ticket for my anti-fraud problem and it was sorted quickly, then I paid and - as advertised - it was instantly setup, I couldn't have changed tabs any faster to see a new email in my inbox.

Atm they've ran out of IP's lol

So should be fine soon They've been replying quickly to my tickets so there's np with support.
I'm new to servers so I shall play about with this for a bit so I get used to it, oh and their addon IP's are $2/ea

We apologize about the IP issue, I'm looking right now and it looks like all the new VPS's that were setup now have dedicated IP's allocated. You can simply login to your HyperVM CP to see it, let us know if you have any issue Scoty. Probably seemed bit silly to receive a VPS instantly without an IP!!!

Why is it your website states higher prices for vps than whats advertised here?

If i may, do you have a set limit to your vps users per box?
Please state how your instant reboot systems work, if its by a client's text message to you or whatever.
What if i have a DDos issue, How can this be rectified? and whats the time frame I'll be looking at?

I'm still skeptical about the prices I'm seeing on this forum and the ones on the website, are you a legal representative of the company or are you a affiliate?

 

I'll try and answer all your questions to the best of my ability, a support ticket may be needed to get a more detailed answer.

1) Please state the processing power of the unmanage vps2 and all the resources etc.

--Unmanaged VPS 2 clients get access to 4 CPU's. With our server loads under 1 most of the time, you can expect over 2+Ghz CPU power when you need it. However, since the CPU power is shared among the VPS's, if 1 client is consuming a lot of CPU power and affects other clients, we will throttle their CPU usage to a lower level so it wont affect other clients. We do our best to keep the server integrity at high levels so clients can run their applications without issues.

2) Why is it your website states higher prices for vps than whats advertised here?

--The VPS's on our website are high performing VPS's that use better hardware than these cheaper Unmanaged VPS's. They are also basic managed so we will help out the clients when they need some supported modules installed.

3) If i may, do you have a set limit to your vps users per box?

-- Not really, as it all depends how many of each VPS plan is on the box. We can put more smaller VPS's than larger, but only a few large VPS's on a box. We always make sure not to overload the servers. There is always a few GB of ram available and CPU so VPS's don't suffer.

4) Please state how your instant reboot systems work, if its by a client's text message to you or whatever.

-- You would simply login to your HyperVM Control Panel (we give you the login details) and you can "Reboot" your VPS.

5) What if i have a DDos issue, How can this be rectified? and whats the time frame I'll be looking at?

-- If it's a large DDoS attach that affects all of our clients, we will be forced to suspend your VPS. If it's a small attach, you can setup your IPTables/Firewalls to block the attack. Since these are unmanaged, you would be responsible to rectify the issue. If you get large DDoS attacks, then you should get one of our dedicated servers which are behind our network-wide firewalls.

--We can help for a fee, yes. But these are Unmanaged VPS's, so it isn't covered by your basic support plan.

--Then that "some guy" doesn't know what he is talking about. It's quite obvious that we have more than 1 person if you are a client...

--Just that, we do not help with anything unless there is a server issue or you can't connect to your VPS.

Another question EPCO, What if the cpu rises up to 55% usage?
Its on a 2.3 Xeon cpu with enough Ram, it doesn't run into swap, its pretty stable at the moment, its not constant, just in the peak periods. Will this have a major effect on your machine?

To be honest i don't follow the load times on a server, i check the CPU usage. At peak times my loads usually are 28.xx - 32.xx server load times during 12-3pm

So if I understand you right, you have a dedicated server right now with a 2.3Ghz Xeon CPU and you are running into 28.xx-32.xx server loads? If that is the case, then a VPS probably wont be that good for you unless you got one of our higher performance VPS's that can be found here: http://www.dmehosting.com/vps-offers.php <-- Those VPS's are hosted on server machines with Dual Xeon 5410's (8 cores of 2.4GHz) and 32GB of ram. Those VPS's would probably keep your load down below a 5.xx... We have about 4 different promotions for the VPS's on our website and I can get you a pretty good deal.

 

Actually I'm using a VPS, but its a performance vps like whats on your website, I've been with my provider for little over 2 years and i pay the price for performance but when i saw your sale thread i had to ask the many questions to see if i can save on fees. But I'm glad i asked.
I'll stay with my current provider for now.

Sounds like a good deal. I know we at HostMDS don't do VPS because we concentrate on Dedicated Servers. For VPS, that's a great price. If you need a Dedicated Server, we can get them for $7.99 / mo.
