    Alexa is spyware, because alexa is spyware, its not reliable.

    Anything you see on the alexa site - take it with a truckload of salt.

    To the person that gave me a red mark, with the comment "alexa is not spyware, idiot" - Alexa is a browser toolbar that tracks your internet activity. Anything that tracks your activity on the internet is "Spyware".

    Besides the major anti-virus venders that consider alexa as spyware, most professionals in the technology field consider it spyware.

    Several years ago, back around 2001, 2002, 2003, 2004 - alexa was some of the worst spyware that you could get on your computer. The code was so poorly written that is crashed internet explorer on a regular basis. Alexa was also associated with being a trojan horse downloader. Meaning that alexa would download and install programs without your permission. One such example is save.exe - when you save - which runs pop-ups on your computer.

    In the recent years alexa has cleaned up its act, probably because amazon bought the company. But its still spyware.

    To answer the original question of this thread - and to restate my position - Alexa is SPYWARE. Encourage your users to use spyware removal tools to remove the script from their computer.

    Anything dealing with alexa looks pretty, but its still spyware generated information. Spyware violates people privacy while on the internet.

    It's strange, some blogspot blogs do get seperate Alexa rankings, I had a couple that did as well as seen some. It appears new/lower traffic ones just adopt the blogger rank but once you get some reasonable traffic, it will have it's own rankings, not the [better:D] #8.

    Weel, you get that Alexa rank 8 because of the domain blogspot or blogger which has a PR of 8. So, don't be confused.
