EzineArticles does not allow you to link directly to the merchant site. So you can not put a tinyurl in your author resource box. EZA only allows a top level domain:

e.g. www.yourdomain.com (A link in this form WILL be accepted by EZA)

they do not even allow sub domains on your own top level domain.

e.g. www.yourdomain.com/redirectpage (A link in this form will NOT be accepted by EZA)

So what you need to do is register a domain, then you create an index page which redirects your customer straight to the merchants site through your affiliate link. This will also allow you to add some tracking code to the page which will allow you to track exactly how many visitors are visiting the merchant site through your affiliate link and where they came from.. Now when someone clicks on www.yourdomain.com they are redirected to the merchant's site.

An interesting thing to note though: If you do not want to register a domain and create a redirect page or landing page, you can simply create a squidoo lens and promote your affiliate products from there. EZA allows you to link to a squidoo lens from your resource box. Simply use the squidoo lens as your "landing page"

Are you sure? I've had two articles accepted last week by EZA that linked to top level domains AND sub domains such as www.domain.com/something-else.php
