De-indexed site? Could it be banned?

    Hello all,

I recently started a blog and I was very happy to see that it was fully indexed by Google within a day. That's 29 pages indexed within a 24 hour period.

I only posted 5 completely unique articles, and made a couple of backlinks through submitting 1 article on ezine and 1 on articlesbase.

Everything was fine for a couple of days up until today.

I used to rank in the first page for a term but today I was nowhere to be found. I assumed that this is normal for new site (bouncing up and down in the ranks) so I wasn't too worried, but I thought it would be wise to do a "site:" search on my domain just to make sure that everything is fine.

The search returned no results. At first, it seemed as if my site had been completely de-indexed. I then copied a full sentence from one of my articles, and ran a search for that exact sentence and I was the first result.

After that, I did another "site:" search but this time, instead of just using my domain, I put "www." as well. The ONLY result I had was my homepage.

    That brings up two questions:

    1) Wouldn't site:mydomain.com INCLUDE site:www.mydomain.com?

    2) Why or how did this happen? Yesterday the search for site:mydomain.com had 29 results. Today it has 0.

I didn't change ANYTHING since the day I first started the blog (5 days ago).

I did not use ANY blackhat methods in order to market it.

All content is unique (both on my blog and in my submissions).

My site didn't even have ANY kind of ads or affiliate links.

    --------------------------------------------------------------------------

Furthermore, I recently started a couple of more blogs. The above facts apply for those as well. The difference is, that even though I followed the same procedures that got the above site to get indexed within a day, these two have yet to be indexed and it's been about 4 days now.

Any ideas or comments would be greatly appreciated guys!

    Thanks so much in advance.

your site is pretty young for whcih you are experiencing such indexing issues. google has several datacenters where the search results are pulled from. one datacenter may have your site indexed but other might not. your site is not banned and with unique content, i dont see anything to worry about. just keep building backlinks and add more content and you should be fine. if you have indexing issue, then submit your site to some top social bookmarking sites which will help

    thanks for the advice!

Just a couple of questions in regards to what you said... Is it ok to submit my own site on many social bookmarking sites? Are there some sites that allow that and some that don't? Should I maybe submit other sites as well to keep under the radar?

    Thanks again

Submitting your own sites to bookmarking site like digg is OK if done once in a while. If you do repeated submissions of each and every post of yours, your account would surely get disabled...at least on digg! :(

    Thanks Rightman.

Just to clarify - I have a lot of sites. Is it ok to submit like 1 post of each?
