Mods... Can this be made in DP?

in a forum which I'm a member of, we were using an application
it is very useful and I think it will be very usefull in a big forum like dp
the name of the application is "spy (squealler)"
when someone quotes any of ur posts, it notifies u by pm or email (choice is up to u)
so u will be instantly informed if smbdy says smthng about ur posts

I know, there is an application in DP that notifies us when smbdy writes to a thread which we wrote before
    but this is sometimes tiring
'cos we write to lots of threads
and I think, most of us wants know if smbdy said smthng about what we wrote
or maybe I'm the only curious one :p

won't it be more usefull to be notified only when smbdy quotes our posts?

what do u think of this?
    can this be made?

There is an option called 'Subscribed Threads' already here at DP so you have to check with it. For a quick view just click on 'Quick Links' in top bar and there you can find 'Subscribed Threads' option.

    DON.

thx for ur reply but I know "Subcribed Threads" option
also, I wrote about it in my first post
but the thing I'm talking about is not like that
it informs u ONLY when smbdy quotes ur post

for example; now I quoted ur post
if there is such an application in dp, u will receive a pm or an email as:
so... u will know, I wrote smthng about what u said
but the others (if they r not using "Subcribed Threads" option) who have posts in this thread won't receive any notifications

by using "Subcribed Threads" option, we receive notifications everytime a person writes to that thread
and as I said this can be tiring
'cos when u receive this notification, u go to that thread and look if there is smthng concerning u

I looked at the "User Control Panel" and couldn't find an option like this
so I thought this can be useful for dp

It is a good suggestion and the feature can really come in handy for readily knowing whether your writing/query has any specific feedback. :)

There is a dedicated section for Suggestions and Feedback and you would have done well to use it for this suggestion.

    Regards,

Sometimes people respond to my posts without actually quoting it (like I am doing right now). IMO, the subscribed thread feature works better for seeing when people are responding to my posts.

And anyway, Shawn is the only one that can add new features to the forum, so decisions like this are his sole discretion.
