    I am just surprised because even some of the subpages were ranked also, albeit a pr1 but it took my main site about a year to start getting rankings on subcats/pages

    I to have felt the changes in PR I keep checking it looks like an actual PR update. One site 0 > 2 and a blog from 0 > 1.

    My site has been dropping PR on every update.
    Now PR1 with more backlinks than 6 months ago, so I think # of backlinks doesn't really matter..

    Google will never show all your links if you check that with : link:domain.con
    For correct results check in google webmaster tools (a little bit slow update on links). If you don't have google webmaster tools account you'll need to sign for one, add your site and authorize it.
