I am looking for good universities in UK for studying mechanical/manufacturing engineering. Please recommend me some good universities for the same. Have you heard of this Loughbrough University ? Is it a respected one ? I am looking for universities outside london. You can also contact me via PM
Loughborough is very well respected for physical sciences/engineering. You could also try my old place. It's one of Britain's oldest and most respected - consistently in the top 5 or 6 UK universities for teaching and research.
Loughborough is good, had a cousin who went there though and he came back after 1 year. Got a few friends at various Unis round the UK, Manchester, Sheffield Uni and Hallam, Portsmouth and Lincoln. Obviously i've never being too Uni so can't say from a first hand experince but Sheffield Uni is meant to be pretty decent. I'd give Nottingham University a miss, unless you want a bullet to your head
Cranfield institute near Bedford i am not sure if that is a University here is a link http://www.cranfield.ac.uk/ looks good.
Rubbish! I went to Nottingham and now work in a highly paid job in the city of London. Nottingham is a very strong university for business. I think it is good for engineering too. Take a look at:http://www.timesonline.co.uk/tol/life_and_style/education/good_university_guide/ A great guide for universities. You can break down by subject which is useful
