Try "Info:sitename" rather that "site:" and also try to submit your site at Google webmaster tools.

Also if you are identified as having dangeous malware on your website you could have your URL blocked so that when anyone tries to enter your website it google would show a warning page then not allow you to the URL.

To test this again just search and google should warn you.

The easiest way to find out about your site is already mentioned above by many of the members. You could check it out by google search or by typing your site name on the address bar and press enter, its simple.

Last 3 weeks it was indexed but when I checked it wasn't. Then I'm on to page 18 already, and still no sign of my site being listed there so I thought it had been blocked. Well, now it's back to indexed. Thanks to all!

If your page / site is new, it will bounce around the rankings A LOT. In addition, each time you search you could potentially be hitting a different datacenter. Each dc will have slightly (to significantly) different results depending on the key term and how new your page / site is. SEO is long term investment with long term results. Patience is a must.
