I have noticed that many marketers have rated mailing lists very high in marketing plan. I just want to know what are benefits of mailing list? (I have one but its new and I am also looking for some advice on its promotion, if you have anything in mind, share it please!) A big Thanks to all! (Literally!)
You can get continuous commissions off good leads, rather than making one sale you can make many sales for related products.
In my honest opinion, works like this: You are building a list on your site, so, that list is being targeted to whatever your site is about. Let's say... Pink Furry Dolls So, every time someone signs up, you have the email of someone that loves/likes Pink Furry Dolls and want to know more of what you have to say about it. So, my recommendation is: 1 email talking about Pink Furry Dolls, 1 email talking about it and marketing/recommending a product of pink furry dolls. another just talking, another talking + marketing... so on, so on...
the ability to have a list mean you are in for the long haul, because you have people that are already interested in you product! So if you service if good, you will make sales and you can then expand you list even more!
Let me give you an example. Let's pretend that you have a list of 1000 people. And you are trying to sell a product from clickbank at $77. If you get 75% commissions, after the fees, you get about 53$ per sale. Let's say you get a tiny 1% conversion.. you would get 1000x(1%)x53= $530 Every email you send them(not daily of course) let's say every one or two week, you get 530$ by sending one email. Now if you improve your conversion rate from 1% to 3%, you check jumps to $1590 per email. And what if you've got 2000 people on your list... or 5000 ? and it keeps growing even at that point.. Unlimited potential of making money with a click of a button. That's my definition of a list.
Yes, money is in the list told me by my mentor. He knows about it because whenever he needs money he'll just send some marketing letter about a new affiliate product and presto..MONEY.
ishan001, from a more professional advertiser's view, mailing lists, opt-in lists, are highly overrated. It is also doing things ass backwards. You are talking about your own list, and not buying one, right?
As far as human psychology goes, people are likely to look at something at least 3 times and then think about it a lot before purchasing. Yes you get people who impulse buy, but only a small percentage. So if you are merely driving traffic to a site and not collecting e-mail addresses - How many of those peole are likely to visit your site at least 3 times? If however you have a list of people who have a genuine interest in the information on your site, they are likely to visit everytime you add good content. So you would want to "speak to your audience" a few times a week. You could mail to your list a link to a new Ezine article you wrote, you could give them a link to a new blog post. Just keep providing useful information to your list and occasionaly give them a link to a new product that is again relevant. You are basic building a relationship with your list. The better they get to know you, the more likely they are to listen to what you have to say and purchase from you. Cheers James
It's a cheap way to get your message out. Rates are generally low but hit people enough with e-mails and they'll start to notice you.
