6 Ways to find Free Keywords within Google itself.

Discussion in 'Google AdWords' started by veracious, May 26, 2009.

First 3 are more obvious ones:

    1) Google's trusted free Keyword tool
    2) The new search based tool that discovers keywords on your website - http://www.google.com/sktool/#
    3) The New Wonder Wheel tool – I have started to use this lately on some new niches I'm exploring and it has given me some great ideas.
    4) Look for related searches at the bottom of Google's page, you can extract lots of related and competitive keywords right there. If you click on a few you'll discover more keywords within Google.
    5) The Google suggestions when you start typing your search – Yahoo was the pioneer in this and now others have adopted. Google also provides you each keyword's search volume which you can again drill to find more.
    6) Look at other adcopy's out there for your niche. You can find more ads under “More Sponsored Link” and then see what your competition is using. Most likely the phrase they are using have been researched already using 'paid' keywords tools.

If there are any other great ideas add them in this thread. I'm sure everyone can benefit.

Great you liked these tips. Also you can go to ask.com and see you other keyword suggestions when you type in your keyword.

Some useful stuff here - thanks. About number 6, I'm not clear on how you find out what keywords your competitors are using to display their adverts?

This is what I mean by (6). Lets say you are looking for golf gloves, look at other adcopies and you'll see 'leather golf gloves', 'white golf gloves' etc.

as for (5) for search suggestions - has anyone seen that you cannot just have another window like notepad open to write the suggestions to. you have to write it down manually on a paper.
