How can you tell how many searches a keyword gets?

Ahhh I did look at it earlier but after using advanced settings and turning off suggestions I know see searches for just the keyword alone. Thank you.

 

You should not only checked the search of keywords but also it's number of competition.

 

Aside from Google Adwords, you can also try to use Digital Point Keyword Tool as another option for checking number of searches for particular keyword.

 

But really I have not found a tool that gives some good number on Keyword searches. I know Google does not give by search query , the keywords/phrases it gives seems some kind of consolidation and does not represent each and every word. In such a case How do you all predict number of searches and what to do SEO on , atleast as your main keyword, anyone?

Google Adwords Keyword Tool is the official Google software for keyword analysis and number of searches. It shows you the monthly trend, CPC, advertisers competition(as low, medium,high), local and global searches.
When you use it make sure you choose the region you are interested in (as your local search results will be correct) and the most important - hit the "Exact" button on the left otherwise the results are more than normal.
