Well Really good information buddy very helpful for newbie to start. Adsense totally depends on the content as if you are having fresh interesting content for hot topics and you update your blog on regular basis then sure adsense earning will be high.

However It's hard get clicks from visitors.
In my view you can make 1$ per 100 visitors normally.

By the way,$40 a month is not "Alot",if we all make $40 a month,we'd better find an offline Job.
