I really don't think this is going to dramatically change the SEO game, I mean changes happen but people always find a way around them, and even the big G won't just kill all types of sites and search results just because it's not a brand

I think that it will become more important to seperate the sites you promote and target the keywords your niche really represents.

Hey thanks for the heads up, I am suprised that google will have to go through a algo change, but I am glad if they can finally destroy those building links through unatural practice. Anyway very valuable post.

I suggest you take note of your rankings for key words now and again after this change takes place. Comparing changes in rankings will (hopefully) not be too painful and will give you an idea of which areas to improve in your SEO.

Well, it is great news Google becoming more and more aware of the effectiveness of quality content pages on websites run by honest admins. Many times low quality sites still can be found at the top simply because of their huge number of backlinks.

This is a tough battle to be honest - most companies which offer the real service (the branded products' site) are very poor at SEO and have little content about the products themselves. Therefore content sites do better in google (with the right SEO of course) and i believe it's going to be sites which have proven themselves over time to be targetted over a specific niche which will win in the end.

I wouldn't trust an article that doesn't know the difference between months and years, and also doesn't understand what 'criminal' means.

Over the past few months, cybercriminals have been using blackhat SEO techniques to manipulate search rankings.

Some blackhat tactics are illegal when you are talking about cookie stuffing for example. Others violate the Google webmaster guidelines which is not but can get you penalized by that. Big difference. Of course, many of the SEO networks are trying to get and stay on Google's good side, so their wording does not always represent the whole truth.

I cant really see a huge change here.

Content is king and if yours is good it will get linked to, and in turn you will rank.

To many people have horrible looking sites and want seo work done on them but you need to start with the site itself.

Get good content on there and people will come, they will bookmark, subscribe etc.. and come back again

I don't think it has been implemented yet, but it is a preview of what is yet to come.
