    Do you really think design has that much influence? I mean i see very poorly designed site that do very well. Google is a good example. They are not as good in designing to the likes of yahoo and Bing!

    Google says they are 200 signals that determines the ranking of a page. Backlinks is just one of those signals. If you read this thread, most plea say say backlinks are the second most important thing after content. So what about the other 199 signals that we don't even know about?
