    yes you can easily do that... just change the permalinks structure of your blog and you will be good to go...

    goto your wordpress Dash board>Settings>Permalinks and opt for Custom Structure with the value as /%postname%.html

    and /%postname%.html will only work for single posts, it will not work for category pages, pages, archives and so on...

    Categories will show like below if you use the /%postname%.html in your permalinks.

    "http://www.yournichesite.com/category/blue-widgets"

    Posts will show like this


    "http://www.yournichesites.com/20-industrial-pallets-and-hardware.html"

    The primary reason for doing this is to help make it easier for other to link to you in searches. You don't want the Search Engines to have to crawl "Deep"... you want to put your content in front of their bots as quickly and easily as possible. Because of HTML so many people are used to linking with an extension so it's a little helpful that way as too.

    You can also just use: /%postname%/

    I actually like to use the .html version because it make the URL look complete.
