How the Hell Does This Guy End up Ranking Well?

    It is unbelievable to me that this guy is able to rank in the #2 position for the following search term:

    ford memorial day sale

    His web site: http://2009-ford-memorial-day-sale.futuremark.us
    and is basically a spam page with links to viagra, etc.

    He also has other sites that look exactly like that, and they occupy at least 6 of the top 10 positions on the search results page.

    Ok, so it looks like Google likes it when the subdomain has the keywords, but then I viewed the source of the page and it's just a javascript:

    <script>
    var icexa=[];icexa[18]="http://rds.yahoo.com/_ylt?YmTmRnfPrKaUmPePbFoKrUdieFrEoJTsnnoETmRKsncUrFoslPlPiPnUgOoJTUnnohThpmnraPiPfPrFaFmFeOp";
    icexa[3]="http://rds.yahoo.com/_ylt?OmUvUaKrhRiqPuPesrUyToTYOYTmLDKanrERKpUaPrVBUsOoPnUeLErRTsKrPrUaiyOZJ[rmPpKaUrQBUsJo";
    icexa[1]="http://rds.yahoo.com/_ylt?^JYKsseiaFrKcFhUfPonrhYr^rYUqLAJYJ^JYnsoBFrPiPnPgEY";
    icexa[5]="http://rds.yahoo.com/_ylt?FyEZr[mmUdPaPtPaVAroPpPaKrjBGAF[rci]T`GAU";
    icexa[4]="http://rds.yahoo.com/_ylt?KrPesfE`VAFpKlUiFtJZOYOqTYm[rmPiUfhZUpnasrntFsE`FlKeUnngjBihTpTcO[GIGDKaPrORidnaoBPansmoPnKeGEmRmsFrirUa";
    icexa[17]="http://rds.yahoo.com/_ylt?]neVAKcUaKpKeOZPtPoKpJ`FlsoPcPaUtFiPoKnT`PhKrPeUfE[T]O";
    icexa[6]="http://rds.yahoo.com....
    </script>

    I'm wanting to know how this guy ranks well. Any ideas?

    The reason he's likely ranking well is that the site is brand new... The futuremark.us domain was registered 5/22/2009. It's the Google "honeymoon"... They frequently show new URLs in the SERPs for a few days or even a few weeks for keywords they think are relevant. Since the entire page is inside a <script> element, they see no text on the page and all they have to go on for "relevant keywords" are those found in the URL.

    It's really simple to unrank him... Complete a spam report at Google. You'll need to include the search term used to find him in the SERPS and the URL that shows up there. I would include as many as you can.

    If you have a Google Webmaster Tools account, login and submit the spam report from there... EVERY spam report submitted via WMT triggers a manual review. If you don't have a WMT account you can still submit a spam report. Google may or may not review the site as a result of submitting one outside of WMT.

    Or you can simply wait a few days and he'll disappear when his "honeymoon" period expires.

    Classic black-hatter mentality - 2009 Memorial Day is Monday? (I'm not in the USA, but I think that's right) He just wants those sites to stay in serps until then (registered on the 22nd May as far as I can see)

    Aaahhhh, the magic of BlackHat! Who cares? Like people who are searching for a Ford on Memorial Day give a damn about Viagra. Or maybe they do, who knows, but it is still pretty stupid... Don't you think?

    Google likes up to the minute fresh content. I'm guessing that it takes time for google to run the immense amount of data it collects through its spam filters.
