I am wasting traffic - do you have a solution?

Please take a look at the attached image.



This is the index page. What can be seen is that people are click on the "Trout Fishing Tips" link on the left hand side.

However this is a link to the homepage! So people are clicking on that and getting taken straight back to the homepage. I think that this is a waste of traffic.

What should I do to solve this problem.

i think you should a href the banner to your forum, people misunderstood it as link to go to the forum itself

 

I agree with this guy, or you could rename the link to home instead of your website name.

 

Desactivate the link. Make it non-clickable...

 

remove that tab because it is already on your page title

 

Should I rename the link as "Homepage"?

The site is down for me currently, but basically you should do what others say - rename the link to "homepage".

 

That link is attracting traffic, so direct that traffic to a place where more information can be shared on that topic. Places like Talk Shoe will be good because there you can host a show dedicated to that topic. Individuals can give advice as well as ask questions on the subject. This type of interactive community has been proven to give positive results. Nice site by the way!

 

site cannot be opened here(in Bulgaria) too, maybe the problem is that server is often down

 

Thats a bit strange - I will look into this down time issue.
