What to do with Backbiting Moderators (on my Forum)

    What do you do when you have a forum with a backbiting moderator? ...someone who likes to run to other people very time you do something they don't like and start talking you and your website down like you're an absolute idiot? And then when others do something he doesn't like, he runs to you.

    Call him Mr. Superball, because he bounces all over the place.

    The problem with Mr. Superball is that you never catch him talking you down and driving traffic away, but you always catch him talking smack about others. You have no concrete evidence, but you can tell...when Mr. Superball is mad at you, he stops posting all together.

    And this isn't minor backbiting. When someone angers him, he goes on and on and on and on and on about it to you through email, telephone for weeks on end. Every day, multiple times.

    It is a strange obsession with Mr. Superball.     Beyond normal backbiting

    Should you...

    A) Email him and ask him if he has any issues with you and the site?

    B) Just ignore him and let him talk about you.

    C) Something else.

    I have a feeling if I outright call him on something, it will get him super angry, and he will have a vendetta against my website.

    What to do, what to do...

    Thanks everyone. I've been hesitant to delete because he is also a mod at a bigger forum in the same niche, and I know he will start spamming to their mods about how "evil" I am.

    I really think you should IP ban him from your site, and when he asks what happened, say it's a problem with his computer. :)
