Directory or Link Bid Directory?

Discussion in 'Directories' started by Steve Myers, May 18, 2009.

This question has been boggling me for days and I need to know which one is better and generates the best results as far as income and traffic.

Do you prefer a standard directory or a link bid? and what are the benefits to a link bid.

    Thanks!

At one time, bidding directories looked like they were generating a fair amount of imcome rather quickly but now not the case.

Id go for a standard type directory, still more difficult with those too now.

I know because i dont remember my last paid submission to mine. :)

    - I respectfully disagree. I operate Both types of directories (bidding directories and non-bidding directories). Without a doubt, my bidding directories Have, and Continue-to-be Much More profitable (compared to my non-bidding directories).

    - I also receive Much Less spam submissions to my bidding directories (compared to my non-bidding directories).

That I understand tensmar about the bidding becoming a great profit "depending on where you advertise at" and also with the spam, this is true as well if you're allowing FREE listings with a nofollow attribute and you're not listing it there to let people know that it is and they just apply with auto submitting scripts.

Also using a captcha image does help (A LOT) with toning the spam down. I haven't received not one submission for free listings on my directory since I have made it and advertised it as it does have a free listing with a nofollow and it's stated there with a link of NoFollow? (New Window) right beside it to let people know that their site will (NOT) be shown or listed in the Google search engine.

    Thanks for the replies.
