Mine was 140mph in a standard 1.8VTI civic on the M6 Toll on a very quiet sunday morning. with 4 adults and luggage, i was more than happy with that.

Some people do alllllloooottt more than that, so i wanna know.

I'm not too good with kph - mph conversion so please state mph he he he

    Thanx

When I was serving with Army CID in Germany, we made it from Käiserslautern to Bremerhaven in a matter of a few hours to a murder scene, averaging about 240kph (about 140) and the fastest I ever made it on an unrestricted part of the autobahn was about 260 (156) ... those were some fun, but scary times

when i did 140mph it was only for about 30 secs, cos its a 70mph limit, and the m6 toll is notorious for lurking coppers.

    it felt wicked though!!!

I'm not sure why 140 miles per hour is actually something to brag about.

We can't bury young people fast enough over here

you have to do it man to realise why its so dangerous, and i'ld rather speed on an empty highway than a built up area

never the less, with the amount of accident i've had in my driving history, i've learnt more than i would have through some1 educating me, but I AM LUCKY I CAME OUT A LIVE, as you said not everyone is so lucky!!!!

I disagree as you can see how dangerous it is all around you. Heres a few people that know. (It may take a while to load as it displays the 300+ people killed so far this year)

Sorry to be a bit somber but things in regards to speed seem to be getting increasingly worse and unfortunately the majority are young people who think speeding is really cool. I guess its the whole "Fast & Furious" effect.

I have seen 3 accidents this week with boy racers driving double the limit that I can't believe survived (one of which almost took me with them)

i hate it when people refer to car enthusiasts as "boy racers" we dont drive about in Vauxhall Novas mate.

We have sophisticated cars more than capable of doing double the speed limit.

Speeding and staying alive is a gift not all possess, its an art.

Just cos u speed dont mean ur gonna die, there are other factors its just easier to blame the speed, you can quite safely drive at 100mph given conditions.

if your gonna speed u gotta do it intelligently! i've only got caught speeding once in 7 years doing 120mph and the empty A1 at 7am. the judge gave me a 14 day ban no points and sed that i was lucky the road conditions were ok for that speed!!!!

I wound up my Honda Shadow up to 105 way back when I was much younger, on the back roads up in Maine. I was happy just to take it over 100, I wasn't that concerned about the actual top end, just wanted to take it over the century mark.

    of course,

i think the VTI would have gone to max 145mph so i more or less hit the top end.

185 that must feel like your gonna fly off any second!!!!!!!

I was gonna say... that must be like the top speed for the car. You should get a VTI-R under the bonnet.

Indicated 175mph on a Kawa 1100 Ninja on the Coast Road between Newcastle and North Shields (about 12 years ago). Closest I've come on four wheels is an indicated 160mph in my Subaru Impreza Sti.
