No you are not allowed to show google ads on gambling content. Is't it enough to clear your mind?

I'd like to clarify as well-

I know they can't be displayed on sites that have gambling transactions and games within themselves.

But can they be displayed on a gambling related "tips" or guides website?

let's say you had a site about Las Vegas Nevada.

On that site you had pages that talk about the Casinos (Harrahs, Harveys, all that stuff)

There are plenty of advertisers for hotels and accomodations, car rentals etc...

So if I have a site about las vegas that I want to use adsense on, inevitably, the word "casino" or "gambling" or "gaming" or even "poker tournament" would show up on some of the webpages (or all if I happened to use the word 'Casinos' in the navigation menu).

Does this make it a gambling site?

The site will not have actual gambling on it (except maybe a few outbound links to online sites on 1 page of the site)

Do you think it is ok for Adsense?

I have submitted the question to Adsense support, but just wondering if anyone here has info.

People should read the TOS for what kind of sites aren't allowed. There are some that aren't that you woulnd't neccesarily think of. For example tobacoo related sites...

Having those words on a site isn't the problem, it's having your site be ABOUT those things that's the problem. So you should be in the clear if all you're talking about is casinos and hotels, etc in Nevada. But don't link to gambling sites. Adsense frowns on ads to adult site and gambling sites as well as sites about those things.

What if you have links to gambling sites in a directory? Should they be removed?

Just to let you know: Today I saw a links directory with a "Gaming" section that was serving ads for "Texas Hold 'em" and other gaming resources.

So do you think if you had ads on pages that weren't from a gambling site, but may have had some gaming links that google would simply not serve ads on that page?

Do you think they probably would not ban your account, but at worst not serve ads or send you a warning.

    thanks for responses

What one must realize when dealing with Adsense is this -- they are hypocrites. That's why they are slow to act when a high-performing website (one that is making them buttloads of money) voluntarily violates their TOS, if they act at all; just as they will serve gambling and porn ads, but don't want you to cater to it vis a vis your site.

How to define gambling ? I'm here talking about poker as I do plan to write about various online poker sites and poker books. But the way I see it (at least when I play) poker (Texas Hold Em) is not gambling...I play poker, I do not gamble....

So would it cause problems if I had AdSense on my poker pages ?

Unfortunately Google does what they want when they want and how they want and they don't or won't offer you any explanation for why they do what they do.
