Hello DP members, My 2 yrs experience says that DP is the forum full of really talented, experienced and solutions generating people. I have a question for Search engine optimizers that what are the Top most TRAFFIC GENERATING SITES. I am not asking about the search engines but the sites which you can join and can get a good traffic for your site. Waiting for your suggestions guys
Classified sites : Craiglist, kijji and more Social Bookmarking : Digg, Delicious, Mixx and more Article Sites : ezine (depend on your quality content)
i exactly do not no about sites which generate traffic i think that this is all depends upon how you are optimizing to your site, as i can also give you the techniques by which you can increase traffic to your sites,as these points are , article submission, blog commenting,Yahoo Answers Traffic, directory submission , social bookmarking, video marketing, and the face book and my space, viral marketing and traffic exchange, this are some of the methods by which you can surely able to increase the traffic to your site.
for traffic, DIGG and Stumble is the best after digg and stumble, you can use reddit for traffic, and if you are not looking for back links, than yahoo answer and orkut is best resource for traffic.
My highest traffic driver right now is the pirate bay. I don't actually have any illegal content on my site.
It depends on the amount of time and effort you want to put into it. If you want to take the time and have the talent - youtube is probably going to be your highest source of traffic. A single well made viral video could send million of hits to your site in a matter of days. But making a viral video is a 1 in a million shot. Maybe even closer to 1 in 10 million. Besides youtube, stumble can be a good source of traffic for the amount of effort you put into it. It takes just a few minutes to sign up and post some links. If your able to stay on top of the "hot topic" of the day, post some blog articles and submit those pages to stumble, there is a possibility of getting some good traffic returns.
getting traffic is one thing and getting the traffic converted is another. there are lot of social sites like digg, stumble, reddit, delicious which will send you fair amount of traffic but most of those traffic dont convert. traffic that converts most is the one that comes from organic search or targetted PPC campaign. others are just gravy
I have to respectfully disagree with that statement. This is from my google analytics account: Youtube traffic has around an 18% bounce rate. Google generic search results traffic has around a 48% bounce rate. Stumble traffic has around a 75% bounce rate. From a poll on my forum, if someone finds my forum from youtube, they are 60 times more likely to create an account then someone from google. And just the bounce rate of youtube traffic is 30% lower then google search results traffic. Youtube is my 4th or 5th highest source of traffic and my #3 source of targeted traffic. I do not do the PPC thing, so I can not offer any information on that.
For non-organic SEO - sudden burst of traffic - use Stumble and Digg. I don't use them since I try to rank high - Stumble and Digg is NFollow.
stumbleupon can send a 1000+ hits in a day. Like all these sites, your site/link bait must be good quality.
i use stumbleupon and reddit give me huge traffic. I tried mixx very few results I tried digg got very few results I tried yahoo buzz got some results better than digg and mixx and a few others with little or no results
sultanofseo Yes I do agree with you 100%. Since you've mentioned the fact that social bookmarking doesn't work as effectively as some may have mentioned above...... when you say organic search and targeted PPC campaign ads exactly what source of traffic are you pertaining to considering organic search and targeted PPC campaign.... Generally speaking what is required in order to do or make the organic search results list you higher in the search engines. Would you be so kind to express a little of that
