how old is this site? the "sandbox" is for new sites, this seems to have a lot of links and PR for a new site?

may I ask the history of the site rankings wise? at a brief look I would say if it ranked well for a while and then dropped it's more likely its been penalized or links you have, have been devalued for unnatural looking anchor text, and from a possibly related interlinked site network.

having a recip links page, called links.html and titled "Reciprocal Links page" would not be doing you any favours if you got a manual inspection.

The site is 2 years old and got sandboxed around 4 months ago after google though there was bad content on it (can't remember exactly what). I now use one of the subpages as the main page instead!

this isnt "the sandbox" then. its a filter or penalty.

the effect may be similar, but the sandbox is alleged to be for new sites preventing them ranking (after an initial entry surge) for up to 6-9 months.

Sandbox is not a penalty, and I pasted the link on Google and it shows up. Also, the title tag inside the homepage is "Glamour Walk Home Page". Assuming that is your site, you might want to change that to add something like Red Carpet Hire.

I actually took red carpet hire out so there can be no duplicate content issues with other pages! Once I get the page back I'll change it! Nice pickup though!

what even for free help, advice and diagnosis? we charge 40 Euros an hour for consultancy normally.

the sandbox is like the Yeti, everyone believes in it, but there's no captured examples available.

Interesting that only one site URL was posted in response to this question, and that site had been identified by Google as having broken some content rules/guidelines (would be useful to know exactly what).

Can anyone post a URL for a site that is currently sandboxed but hasn't had any Google warnings etc about problematic content?

There have been many examples of sandboxed sites in this Sandbox forum so why don't you just check them out.

I sense you don't believe in the sandbox so whats your theory on it?

I believe that the 'sandbox' is a way of saying that Google is testing your site. You may experience very good rankings when you first start out, as I did, but then experience a drop off from those good rankings, as I did.

It took my site in about 6 months to reach a page 1 ranking that will stick through the test of time and algorithms. When I started my site I experienced rankings from page 2 to page 5 to start with. Man I was on cloud 9. Brand new site in a competitive niche with decent rankings, sounds like fame to me...

Then suddenly the honeymoon was over. I was found anywhere from page 15 to page 25 depending on how Google felt that day. I did what any other true marketer does though, kept on keeping on. Now I am comfortably STUCK on page 1 for my initial keyword phrase and about a dozen other terms related to the ORIGINAL articles I have posted on my site.

Do what you want with it...

yep, that's the "honeymoon" period. when it's over you just rank where you should do for a new site. the more competitive the search, the lower you will be. ..as you say, keep working and it will rise.

that doesnt mean however that it was ever sandboxed.
