I quit smoking 19 years ago. It was the best decision I have ever made. The first three months were hell, but eventually the pain went away. However, I will never forget those three months of pain and I never want to suffer like that again from a self imposed addiction.
I quit smoking last year when i got marriied to a beutiful girl She convinced me in such a way that i had to quit. Made me feel that i am not addicted to it althought i was .....

I started smoking at 13 years. I was stupid. I can't to quit smoking. I'm 25. It's no difference to die healthy or not.
I'm not sure if it will work for you in the same way as it did with me, but try this: Aim some type of physical activity which requires a lot of exercising. I wanted to be able to swim two whole lengths of olympic size swimming pool. When I was smoking I could barely catch my breath and I couldn't make one full length. After a month or so with no smoking I was able to achieve my goal and do it. Additional motivation I used was to psyche myself against smoking in order to kill the nicotine crave. I've tried to convince myself that I'm "a serious drug addict" and tried to hypnotize myself that smoking is the same as heroin injections. I compare my crave to one that a serious junkie is feeling and I try to convince myself that I can do it without the daily cigarette. (Actually that's the strategy my father advised me). It worked wonders. Every time I felt like smoking I imagined that I'm getting as low as the heroin addict and this helped me overcome the nicotine crave. Also guys, make sure you have plenty of pencils to put in your mouth. I found out that in the beggining having a pencil in the mouth felt quite relaxing Hope those advices can help you overcome your addiction! Cheers, Venetsian.
