Seems to me that adding your sites to directories really works.

I have been impressed with the increase in membership and activity at my site www.clubtitan.org and www.clubarmada.com since I added them in several different directories. Thanks for the tips you guys.

Have you added to DMOZ? That is first directory to which I submit.

why do you believe that directories are the best form of generating business? we have found that using search engines is a better way of generating business and awarness rather than a directory, also incorporate metatags and spiders allows us to move more quickly up search engine results.

How do you get into DMOZ? I tried once months ago and nothing ever happened.

Ideally you get a small Vodoo priest to cast a spell so that the DMOZ editor will include you quickly, if you dont have a small vodoo priest handy you can borrow mine for a small fee, or you can wait 3-18 months like the rest of the planet. :D

I tried becoming an editor for my area, but the web sites I gave weren't ideal enough. I reckon I will try again when I finish uni.

I sure hope that directories work. I have spent a lot of time submitting my site to them.

Thanks for sharing that! Dmoz is free, actually.

Make that "money" instead of "time" and it will work

Well if you have a look at the date of this thread you will realise its a bit... 3 years old... When it comes to directories. They no longer work as well as they used to. In fact i have not submitted to a single directory for over a year now. You can do better things with your time.

I use a directory submitter that fills in all the fields automatically for over 1300 directories, and they show you the page rank for each directory which I like.
