You're looking at the wrong data field.

 

He is not looking in the wrong field. He said 'Last Activity' in his post which is 8th May. It means he was online for some reason or the other.

But he has not made a single post from a month or two, its correct too.

We don't except him to post now, I think that our expectation from admin should be to put in more mods, a member like you, so they can stop DP from going into well. Only these mods can't do anything, because these are not more than 15-20 but members who needs moderation (spammers) are in hundreds and increasing everyday.

I don't think, MODS are not enough to control, They are identifying the wrong ones and punishing them properly. .

Have a look at the list of banned members per day, I don't know there is a list for that or not. . But when you post you can see people are getting bans and infractions.

They are closing improper and useless threads properly, Even my thread once, I thought that, it may be useless thread, But i started.

One of the MOD explained it and also closed that thread. So MODs are looking at DP properly i feel.

Yes there should be. But I don't think you should be annoyed because you gave us the idea of getting contact details outside DP from members. But its not easy to get from each and everyone.

But thinking won't help because mods can do nothing about it even if they want to, administrators need to take a look on it.

Replying to the thread, I think that there must atleast be a system wherein member if Banned must still be able to receive & send PM's.

 

You mean allowing PM Spammers to continue PM spamming even after banned?

There is an option to email users if you allow it, so allow it in case you get banned while doing a deal

Actually I just came back from a 7- day ban. This time it's for bumping my thread, lol. (Yeah, this is my second time, the first one was for sending a PM to someone). I also got infractions for posting a thread on the wrong category.

One time the moderator got mistaken and banned me for something I knew nothing about. I got panicky and emailed DP right away to state my case and immediately they lifted or reversed the action, thanks God. Don't you think moderators, too, deserve infractions or get banned sometimes?? 30 minutes will do. LOL. I hope this will not get me into trouble.


You could say DP is pretty strict, but I guess it just means we have to be careful.

Now I understand those who got banned - you can see them scattered all over - are not necessarily law-breakers or scammers (well, some really are and got a permanent ban)...they're simply CARELESS (read: forgetful) or ignorant (for the newbies) and didn't mean to break the rules.


I'd be honest - it's quite annoying to see a number of banned members on the threads. You'd think all these members are bad or having some behavioral problems when in fact it's not. So happens the moderators are taking their job seriously, and I mean, seriously.

But every forum is different, so I guess that's DP's identity. Not necessarily a good or bad thing.

 

DP is no more or less strict than any other forum I've spent time on. If everyone just sticks to the rules, there's no need to ever be banned (which, of course I have never been banned LOL)

No there can be a system for Complete Ban also wherein user pm, posts, etc everything is banned.
