Why to be so intolerance ?

Pope Benedict visited the King Hussein Bin Talal mosque, and he didn't take of his shoes when he entered into the mosque. Was it so hard to take of shoes ?
I guess his words will be more seriously accepted , if he took of and respected the Holy places.

If you don't respect then why visit ?

 

Dude, the Pope never washes his legs so no one wanted to smell his socks.

well... not many muslims practice that. Whereas church and christianity ban is a state law, and is practiced.

Moreover, in Iran there is a death penalty in case of inter-religious marriage. A good friend of mine who is a swiss guy had to convert to islam in order to marry his Iranian wife. He never visited a mosque before and after that....

There countless more examples for the unmatched tolerance of the muslim countries. I say: Europe should just look, learn and implement on 1 to 1 basis

But the pope? how dare he not take his shoes off?!

 

Maybe it is not so important, but when pope wants to start dialog then it should be easy for him , to take his shoes of. It should be a positive message

There is a reason why Muslims take off their shoes before entering the place of worship.

When Moses(pbuh) visited God (the burning bush) on Mount Sinai, God ordered him

So, Muslims oblige. They never enter the place of worship with shoes on.

Thank you for the info and link. But here is a question. Why there was a need a carpet from Mosque entrance to the lecture hall ? He could take his shoes at the entrance of the Mosque. I guess it can not be the reason for this ..

Mohamed and his companions use to enter the Mosque with their shoes/slippers. As a matter of fact, praying with your footwear on is more favorable than not if they are clean.

I really don't like people when they try to make big things out of little things, it is either they are bored or just filled with hatred.

Because the pope doesn't believe in Mohamed, he thinks mohamed is a liar. So he doesn't remove his shoes because he doesn't believe that God said this to Mohamed.
Otherwise the pope would be muslim, not christian!
