CB Payment Issues - What To Do?

Ok guys! ;) So we all know sometimes CB sucks when they have their tracking and payment processing issues, very common tho. Well the thing is, what can you do as a publisher if a customer contacts you and tell you they can't buy your product?

It is money what they're offering, and if they contact you then they're interested in buying your product, that's for sure. So...

Can you create like a separate site or page with a different payment processor just for this cases? You just refer your customers to that alternative site where they can purchase and get the product. But...

How can you pay the affiliate the commission they deserve?

Thanks for your opinions guys ;)

    Cheers!

I think the only way to do it is completely manually, simply email the customer saying CB must be screwing up so goto a seperate payment page that you have setup.

As for the affiliate, you can either screw him (not recommended), or when emailing the customer ask him how he found your site, ie. what site referred him. Then you can email the owner of that site to give them their commission. Now this is a massive pain in the arse and will start to mount up if you have lots of sales and CB screws up alot, but I bet that the affiliate whom you email will be grateful and more likely to work with you in the future

Just reply to those emails saying that they should send the payment to your Paypal account.

Then when you got it, send the product.

There is actually a script that checks to make sure that CB is up and functional and if it isn't it automatically redirects it to Paypal. I just can't remember the name of the product!
