This contest is for a new website to sell old, vintage and antique typewriters. I am looking for a vintage, elegant website that is creative and fun.

First - the name of the website is as follows:

With regards to the overall theme, I am open to creativity, however, I have detailed below my initial vision below to make this very easy for everyone.

What I am looking for is essentially similar to the below URL:

    http://tinyurl.com/c4g9pt

Background: I like that the background looks like the top of a wooden desk, and it is nice that there are some personal belongings such as a cup of coffee and an envelope. However, for this site an ink well bottle, and other interesting vintage items (like old airmail) can be used. Feel free to use your creativity.

Center and bottom of the page: The differences that I would like to suggest when comparing to the above sample link that I provided, is that the paper should be white and come out of the top of a typewriter. Thus, along the bottom I would like to see a typewriter paper roller and perhaps a view of some of the keys. Then the paper that comes out is where the text for the website will load. Here is an example image of how the bottom of the page could look:

Left and Right Side: On the right and left side of the paper I would like for there to be three poloraid pictures on each side as this is where I will place images of typewriters.

Top of the page: I would like the navigation buttons to be contained within typewriter buttons which I will eventually link to About, Contact etc. Here is a link to the type of button I mean:

Please note: When I find a design I like, I will be offering the winner a chance to design many more parts to our site for further pay.

    Contest Rules:

    * Contest Will begin on today on May 7th and end on May 10th - or sooner if I find a winning design that I like.
    * Compensation will be paid instantly by PayPal
    * I will need a PSD file from the winner

    Thank you and good luck!

Thanks for the entry stardesigns. Whereas I like what you have submitted, I do not want to copy the example I gave in any way. I noticed you have the cup of coffee, tape, background, paper etc.. all copied from the template example I gave previously. Also, I had asked for a white paper coming out of the typewriter, and I am having a very hard time seeing the typewriter you put at the bottom. Lastly, the bubbles you used for the nav at the top does not look like typewriter keys.

I am open to other designs and creative input from everyone so feel free be creative and help to generate a nice looking home page :)

    Thanks!

    Hello RaduTRIFAN,

Great entry!! I really like what you have here. There are a couple of possible of minor modifications that I would like to request.

    1) For the logo at the very top left which reads "Poetic Typewriters," it would be great if the lettering was sitting on top of a vintage air mail envelope, perhaps where the address would go. Check out this link for an example of what I mean: http://www.istockphoto.com/file_closeup/objects-equipment/1127180-air-mail-envelope.php?id=1127180&refnum=332471

    2) For the navigation buttons, currently labeled "H" "A" and "C," please add the text "Home" below "H", "About" below "A," etc. It would be great to do this in a typewriter font. In addition, on the right hand side, below the inkwell, could you add the buttons "D" with the word "Desktop" underneath it, "P" with the word "Portable" underneath, and "B" with the word "Brands" underneath.

    3) What you have done at the bottom with the typewriter is PERFECT. My only concern is that this particular image has rust and the typewriter is not in great condition itself. Could you please change this with a typewriter that is in better condition? I really like what you have here -- we just need a typewriter that is in a little better condition because the typewriters on my site will be in great condition.

    4) The only other request that I have is to see how this would look with a real wood background, instead of one that is graphics.

Overall, great work! I really like your submission and feel that it is on point with what I'm looking for. Thank you!

We have a winner! I am pleased to announce that ENVisionize is indeed the winner of this contest.

Thank you to all others who have submitted an entry, your time and efforts were greatly appreciated. In fact, many of you were a sliver away from winning. There were so many great entries it was very hard to pick one. Thus, there are many talented designers on DP and I do thank you all!
